Gideon Porth
Farmer and Owner

Gideon got his first farm job while in college and has never looked back! Atlas Farm has been his labor of love since 2004 and it continues to amaze, excite, and challenge him every day. Gideon lives just down the road from the farm with his daughter Stella and dog-daughter Juno. When he's not farming (if he's ever not farming!), he loves enjoying time with friends and family, travel, woodworking, and eating great food.

Rosemary Bateman
Retail Produce Manager

Hailing from central New Hampshire, Rosemary joined the Atlas Farm field crew in 2011 and worked at the farmers markets for several seasons before stepping into the Retail Produce Manager and Marketing Specialist roles in 2017. She is happiest wandering through woods and wetlands, watching bumblebees in the flower garden, or hunkering down with a good book.

Ian Boyd
Field Production Manager

Ian and his wife Ashley live in Rowe with their son Otto and two Saint Bernards, Peyton and Beyla. Ian came to the farm in 2022 from the restaurant industry, most recently as the Executive Chef at Mount Snow in southern Vermont. When he’s not in the fields on the farm, he can usually still be found on a tractor or bulldozer managing his homestead and maple sugaring operation in the Berkshire foothills.

Benny Butler
Greenhouse Manager

Benny has a passion for using sustainable practices to grow awesome local, organic food for the community. His interest in farming “germinated” from experiences volunteering on permaculture farms in South America. He loves to travel the world and explore different cultures and agriculture systems. He is happiest when outdoors — hunting, fishing, and hiking.

Everald Forbes
Field Crew Foreman

Ev shoulders a lot of weight in his role as field crew foreman — rather like the mythical figure in the Atlas Farm logo! He is an avid sports fan and after work he can often be found catching a game or match on TV to unwind. He is also a serious contender for the crown of “best cook in the labor house” — his scrumptious chicken, shrimp, and dumpling soup is much-anticipated at the crew barbecue each summer.

Rob Lynch
Farm Mechanic

Rob and his wife Meghan live in Sunderland with their two boys, Cayden and Charlie. They ran Riverland Farm together for 13 years. Rob is now focusing on the equipment repair side of farming and is excited to be a part of the Atlas Farm team. Outside of work Rob enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, most especially on top of a mountain with a snowboard under his feet.

Delroy May
Field Crew Leader

Delroy has worked at Atlas since 2007, making him one of the farm’s longest-tenured employees. In the summer months, he is best known as the fearless leader of the tomato packing team. He finds joy all sorts of sports and games — from playing cricket to watching Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. Someday he hopes to win a million dollars on a scratch ticket — until then, we’re glad to have him here!

Josh Neil
Facilities Manager

Josh lives in Northfield with his wife Amy, daughter Ruby, and son Gordon. When not working he also enjoys hunting, fishing, and old farm equipment.

Mike Paterson
Delivery Driver

Mike spent his early twenties on a CSA farm in Connecticut, managed a grass-fed livestock farm on the Maine coast, and worked as a confectioner and commercial beekeeper before returning to agriculture here at Atlas Farm. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, and exploring his passions: music, motorsports, and outdoor adventure. Mike lives in Greenfield with his wife, Hannah, and two daughters, Fiona and Ivy.

Cristina Sargento
Greenhouse Assistant

Cristina has worked at Atlas since 2013, joining the greenhouse team in 2022 after many years on the field crew.

Warren Simpson
Field Crew Leader

Among other roles, Warren is the helmsman of the harvest wagon — the most experienced tractor operator on the field crew. Jack-of-all trades and master of the two-minute power nap! In addition to growing vegetables, Warren is passionate about raising cows on his home farm in Jamaica, tinkering with equipment, and listening to music — especially reggae.

Rohan Walters
Packinghouse Supervisor

Rohan joined the Atlas field crew in 2015. In 2022 his interests and skill set led him to a leadership role in the packinghouse. Outside of work, he loves going out to parties, listening to music, and running in obstacle course races. If Rohan were a vegetable, he would be his favorite lettuce — romaine.
